So what is Persian food?
Persian food is about a balance of flavours, textures and temperatures. With every meal you’ll find a combination of sweet and sour, crunchy and soft, hot and cold. Recipes use an abundance of herbs and spices with a combination of unique ingredients such as dried limes, saffron, zereshk, kashke, ghooreh and sumac. Most dishes are high in nutrients, protein, fibre and overall goodness.
The aromatic nature of Persian dishes make them well spiced and very flavoursome. There’s a misconception that Persian food is spicy, but in regards to heat, it’s relatively mild.
