Let's talk about freezer food; say the word “frozen” and people immediately think of the worst foods possible, however we are BIG advocates of the fresh-frozen method. Let’s smash the frozen food myths and explain why you should show your freezer a little love.

When we started our company back in 2019 we knew we wanted to send our dishes out frozen and although it is a harder process to perfect, we had several reasons why we wanted to do so.

Helping with food waste
As a small family company we try to be as eco friendly as we possibly can. We have documented our journey to using biodegradable packaging, we use print materials that are printed with vegetable inks, we partner with supply companies such as Woolcool to ensure that we can provide the most environmentally friendly packaging possible, but what about the food inside the box?

Did you know that 4.5 million tonnes of edible food is thrown away each year by UK households? Shockingly, 25% of this wasted food is due to cooking, preparing or serving too much -  this costs UK households £3.5 billion each year, which adds up to £284 a year for every single person in the country. With 70% of all UK food waste coming from households we have a huge problem.

By freezing our products, as a company we are tackling food waste. Buying frozen foods can help you, food producers, shops, and the whole supply chain waste less. It can also make it easier to land healthy foods on your plate on nights when you don't have time to cook.

Less food goes to waste when it's shipped frozen, since it's not as perishable on the journey from the farm to your refrigerator. It stays fresh for longer, companies don’t need to add additives or preservatives and you can use only what you need. Better for your pockets and better for our planet!

Locking in flavours without using preservatives
Freezing food from fresh locks in flavour and nutrients, which means we don’t need to introduce any preservatives or additives to our dishes. As a company we ensure our dishes are packaged and frozen at their peak freshness, meaning you always get the best quality possible.

Home cooked meals for longer
Delivering frozen food means you’ll always have home-cooked, comforting and nutritious meals ready to heat up and eat in an instant. What’s more, you can store dishes for months in your freezer compared to the shelf life of fresh food.
