Be Inclusive Hospitality is a social enterprise and not-for-profit organisation. Founded by Lorraine Copes and incorporated in July 2020, the goal is to advance racial equity in the hospitality industry. The social enterprise now holds the prime position of igniting the much-needed conversations, and delivering initiatives to advance change within the hospitality, food, and drink sectors.
The 2nd BIH Spotlight Awards, presented by TV chef and restaurateur Shelina Permalloo, were a celebration of exceptional businesses and individuals from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds in the hospitality industry, bringing together some of the brightest stars of the present and the future. The awards were held at a sold-out ceremony held at M Threadneedle Street in London.
Lorraine Copes explained "Last night marked an extraordinary celebration of outstanding talent in the hospitality industry. The ambience was unparalleled and I express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who contributed to this event. Whether it was our esteemed judging panel, our sponsors, and the hospitality community who nominated their favourites. It was a privilege to be surrounded by so many passionate and dedicated individuals, and I offer my hearty congratulations to all our deserving winners."
Natalie Jahangiry, Co-Founder at Modern Persian Kitchen said “We are absolutely delighted to be recognised for such an incredible award. As a small family company and in the climate we are currently facing this award really means a lot. Thank you to the incredible Lorraine Copes, a true inspiration, for allowing the voices of the minority to be heard, to the judges who choose us and to Piers Zangana and the Persian Hospitality Network for sponsoring our category. Last but not least, a huge thank you to all the wonderful people who nominated us, we appreciate it more than you know.”
With thanks to BIH and Freezeframe Media.
